On the Goa liberation anniversary (19 Dec 1961) : Brutal facts of Goa Inquisition

(Please pass on to your friends and relatives, for them to know this little piece of India’s history of brutal religions.)

Goa was liberated 19 Dec 1961. Goa is a horrible story of christian conversion, like many other conversion stories across the world, but far more brutal, demonstrating that christian god was worse than satan. The Inquisition was ordered by church, and later the demon of conversion Francis Xavier, the devil in the guise of a priest, was canonized by pope gregory XV in 1622. vatican has never apologised for this genocide, the demonstration of love for jesus.

In 1541, the new Christian Missionaries from Portugal mandated that all Hindu temples be closed. It is estimated that by the end of the 17th century, the Portuguese carried out ethnic cleansing of Hindus and Muslims who constituted less than 20,000 out of the total Goan population of 2,50,000. Among the severely punished was 4,046, out of whom 3,034 were men and 1,012 were women.

“At least from 1540 onwards, and in the island of Goa before that year, all the Hindu idols had been annihilated or had disappeared, all the temples had been destroyed and their sites and building material was in most cases utilized to erect new Christian Churches and chapels. Various viceregal and Church council decrees banished the Hindu priests from the Portuguese territories; the public practices of Hindu rites including marriage rites, were banned; the state took upon itself the task of bringing up Hindu orphan children; the Hindus were denied certain employments, while the Christians were preferred; it was ensured that the Hindus would not harass those who became Christians, and on the contrary, the Hindus were obliged to assemble periodically in Churches to listen to preaching or to the refutation of their religion.”

“A particularly grave abuse was practiced in Goa in the form of ‘mass baptism’ and what went before it. The practice was begun by the Jesuits and was alter initiated by the Franciscans also. The Jesuits staged an annual mass baptism on the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul (January 25), and in order to secure as many neophytes as possible, a few days before the ceremony the Jesuits would go through the streets of the Hindu quarter in pairs, accompanied by their Negro slaves, whom they would urge to seize the Hindus. When the blacks caught up a fugitive, they would smear his lips with a piece of beef, making him an ‘untouchable’ among his people. Conversion to Christianity was then his only option.”

Indigenous or native people were forced to accept Portuguese religious beliefs, abandoning their faith. By 1559 Portuguese missionaries ordered the destruction of Hindu temples in that region. In 1567, in Bardez 300 Hindu temples were destroyed. From 1567 .Hindu rituals, including marriages and cremations, were banned Everyone above 15 years of age was forced to listen to Christian preaching, Francis Xavier, turned worse for Hindus, Muslims and for Jews With the introduction of Goa Inquisition. Goa Inquisition was almost on par with Inquisition in Spain -1478 in terms of gory treatment and violence. Introduced in 1560, all non-Christians went through hell and mental agony caused by Portuguese preachers in their mother land. Xavier commented “The Hindus are an unholy race. They are liars and cheats to the very backbone. Their idols are black—as black as black can be— ugly and horrible to look at , smeared with oil and smell in a evil manner.

It is time that pope apologises, not only for Goa, but for rest of the world where christianity has caused havoc, killed millions, looted countries and psychologically enslaved people for life.
